RCAD’s Welcome Home to Prince George’s is an innovative workforce development initiative designed to support returning citizens—individuals who have been incarcerated for five or more years and released within the last 12–18 months.
This tuition-free certification training, stipends, and supportive services is designed in partnership with Employ Prince George’s (EPG), Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) and Training Grounds. Welcome Home provides participants with the tools, training, and resources needed to secure stable, long-term employment and improve their life trajectories.
Program Highlights:
- Tuition-Free Certification Training: Comprehensive training programs at no cost to participants.
- Stipends and Supportive Services: Financial support and services to help ease the transition.
- Partnerships with EPG and PGCC: Collaborations with Employ Prince George’s (EPG) and Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) to deliver exceptional training and resources.
Program Benefits:
- Certification Training: Tuition-free enrollment in industry-specific certification programs at Prince George’s Community College.
- Job Placement Assistance: Personalized support to connect participants with potential employers, helping them secure stable employment that aligns with their skills and career goals.
- Paid Training: Stipends to support program success and ensure financial stability during the training period.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Proof of Prince George’s County Residents
- Release from Jail/Prison within the past 18 months
- Must Attend an in-person Information Session on either Jan. 29th, Feb. 5th or Feb. 11th
