More than 100 youth and young adults from Washington, DC and Prince George’s County will participate.
LARGO, Md. (May 17, 2022) – The Basketball Group, the Innovation Hub at Prince George’s Community College (INNOHUB@PGCC) and Training Grounds, Inc are pleased to announce the “Home Court Elite” combine being held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 8:00am to 5:00pm at the Novak Fieldhouse on the campus of Prince George’s Community College (301 Largo Road, Largo, MD 20774). Local partners include Training Grounds, Inc, MCN Mid Atlantic, New Balance Athletics, Gatorade, Baxter, “Mental Check” Stress Management, Get Me Recruited, Rivals.com, Streetwize Foundation, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated, and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated.
This event is designed to engage approximately (125) student-athletes from Washington, DC and Prince George’s County in experiential learning opportunities including sports, health & nutrition, technology, financial literacy, innovation, entrepreneurship, and other 21 first century skills.
Additionally, former Washington Wizard Etan Thomas and other local NBA & Collegiate athletes will be in the building! TBG and the INNOHUB@PGCC have assembled over 10 national collegiate basketball programs offering scholarships onsite! (Xavier University-LA, Voorhees University- SC, Point University – GA, Carlow University – PA, Southern University – LA, Stillman University – AL, St. Thomas University – FL, University of the Virgin Islands, Wiley College – TX). Student-athletes will participate in the following activities:
- Financial Literacy provided by Isaiah’s House of Hope/ Ron Curtis and the Urban Financial Services Coalition
- Introduction to Entrepreneurship presented by the INNOHUB@PGCC
- Mock Press Conferences provided by Kennedy George & Lexi Evans
- “Game Day Preparation” w/Healthy nutrition planning hosted at PGCC’s CulinaryArts Center • Basketball Analytics Combine hosted by T3I Sports
- Abbreviated games and drill sessions
